Kim SlowikCo-Founder & Head of Production
As one of the founders of SoShines and Head of Production, Kimberly Slowik provides 22 years of expertise in production, post production and music production around the United States. Kimberly has had tremendous success in producing and executing content with various deliverables, both minimal and multi-million dollar budgets, working with automotive, retail, pharmaceutical and feminine care brands. Kimberly's inspiration for the SoShines project stems from a Kids with Cancer piece for a major automotive manufacturer. There’s no doubt her career's successes are an asset to launching the SoShines experience. Kimberly enjoys creating memories with her daughter and husband, traveling, running, golfing and spending quality time with friends and family.

Michael PendergastCo-Founder & Creative Lead
Michael comes from an early background of special effects for film and television, before beginning a career in graphic design and creative direction. Michael has over 20 years' experience working for a wide variety of companies and agencies in Portland, New York and the San Francisco Bay Area that include advertising, marketing, branding and identity, packaging, event/experience design, environmental design, video and photography, information design, and media/entertainment. Michael most recently served as Art Director for KinderCare Education. At KinderCare, Michael was responsible for branding and identity of KinderCare’s brands, as well as leading a team of creatives in bringing those brands to life across many channels. Past clients include Ernst and Young, Citigroup, Time, Inc., Limited Brands, Brooks Brothers and many more. Michael lives in Portland, OR with his wife and 9 year-old daughter.

Dusty SlowikCo-founder, Director of Celebrity & Brand Relations
John “Dusty” Slowik comes from a background in advertising, with nearly twenty years experience as a Business Affairs Manager. Dusty has worked at some of the most well respected and highest award winning creative advertising agencies across the country, and has been a part of extensive global advertising campaigns across various mediums and platforms for clients such as Nike, Old Spice, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Samsung, Target, Comcast, Coca-Cola and many others. Dusty possesses vast knowledge and expertise of the production process and has a keen insight into the inner workings of the brand endorsement and licensing world. Over the years he has established strong relationships with numerous celebrity agents, record labels, movie studios, production companies and brand communications teams. Dusty currently lives in Portland, OR and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing music, running and watching sports.

Gabriel Lopez-Mobilia, Ph.D.Director of Research & Development
Trained as a developmental psychologist with a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, Gabe is adept at using research and data analysis to measure perceptions, beliefs, and motivations. For his dissertation, he conducted a research project to study children’s reactions to a lifelike robot. He has since been fascinated with people’s interactions with emerging technologies, including virtual reality, and he is eager to discover how these tools can be used to enhance learning and promote positive social interactions. He also has a passion for art and design, and some of his creative outlets include making elaborate paper mache piñatas, creating sound effects and music for video games, and playing the violin.
